Service Experts of Raleigh Helps a Man Go Above and Beyond for His Neighbor Published on June 29, 2016 Back in May, Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh accepted a call from a man named Jimmy from the Raleigh area who told Service Experts about a very exciting project he was working on for his neighbor Kyla. Kyla Tracy is an exceptional 9 year old who was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, sometimes referred to as brittle bone disease. She uses a wheelchair to get around and her residence was not wheelchair friendly, due in large part to the size of the wheelchair. When Jimmy realized the situation, he wanted to remodel the Tracy family’s residence to make it completely wheel-chair accessible. However, due to the age of the home, it was going to be more work than he initially planned. Not yet defeated, Jimmy elected to try transforming the Tracy family’s carport into a wheelchair accessible mini-suite, which would include Kyla’s own playroom, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette. Excited, Jimmy started calling local home service groups, including building supply companies, plumbers, and electricians and they all said they would be thrilled to help and contribute services and supplies. He asked Service Experts of Raleigh for the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) portion of Kyla’s new apartment. A couple of Service Experts employees went over to ask more about the remodel and were amazed by how bright and kind Kyla was and they knew they had to help. Kyla’s father, Jared Tracy, said he expected to pay for the $12,000 HVAC systems for Kyla’s new mini suite, but with the assistance of Lennox and RE Michel, Service Experts was able to present the Tracy family a bill that said: “We are more than honored to present you with a complete heating and AC system at not cost as long as we can all have hugs.” The employees at Service Experts of Raleigh were overwhelmed to help provide such a precious girl with a much-deserved place to live and get around in her wheelchair efficiently and safely. But it’s not over yet. The Tracy’s are trying to purchase a wheel-chair friendly vehicle to better transport Kyla and her family.
