What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most typical air conditioning problems in Livermore.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system operating but there isn’t cool air being produced, you may need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it simply burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity can cause more condensation so an additional issue to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is blocked. If you can confirm these issues, you may be able to pinpoint the culprit; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause significant cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be back in business. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
